A very decent TV box for its price point at $54. We purchased one on eBay years ago for double this price, and it really was a piece of work... as in, it never really worked and I ended up throwing it in a drawer and never using it again. Realizing tech and operating systems are always improving, this box provides you with a very decent hardware and performance for a very fair price.

This box is a nice little chunk of beef with a Quad-Core Cortex-A5 1.5GHz processor. It's RAM is DDR3 1G and has built-in ROM at 8G. This box runs Android 4.4, and supports 1080p and 3D. It also has an external memory slot which supports up to 32G and includes 2 USB ports.

I decided to test this using my USB mouse and keyboard and connected directly using an Ethernet cable (yes this also does have Wifi). This also comes with a controller, but I did not use it and much prefer a mouse/keyboard or airmouse.

On startup, I'd say it took a little long to boot comparing to other boxes that I have - but it wasn't extremely aggravating and it's not worth crying over spilled milk. Once everything was booted, you're presented with a lovely launcher/interface that is very user friendly and easy to navigate through. In the settings you can choose from two launchers, both being very presentable.

This box automatically detected my TV at 1080p, something another box I have didn't do - so this was good to see. I also noticed not a lot of crazy bloat software was installed - just your standard Android apps with some extra. I didn't have to do much uninstalling, so thank you Sourcingbay. Kodi also came pre-installed at its latest version 16.0 as of March 2016.

When I navigated through the system, I noticed it responded well. I'd say the speed is around average, and there were notably no annoying hang-ups or delays. The only time I experienced loading/lag was while watching YouTube, but I blame the internet and YouTube for that.

The picture came through very nice when watching movies and videos, and same goes for all images/characters on the screen.

It's a bummer that it doesn't have Bluetooth, but again not a deal-breaker.

Overall I'd rate this a 5 because of its functionality and price point. It's also very aesthetically nice to look at, and is small enough you can fit it snug anywhere in or out of sight.

There are a lot of competitors out there, so I'd say what makes this one stand out from the rest is the quality you're getting for the price. A smart purchase for those who want a standard smart TV without breaking the bank.
